Why Saudi Arabia remains reluctant to join the Abraham Accords despite Trump’s push

Despite renewed pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump, Saudi Arabia is still not ready to join the Abraham Accords, the diplomatic agreements that normalized relations between Israel and several Arab nations. According to Jerusalem Post, hopes that Riyadh would eventually sign on have resurfaced repeatedly since the accords were launched in 2020, but those expectations have yet to become reality.

Saudi Arabia has maintained informal cooperation with some countries involved in the accords, but officials remain cautious about taking the final step toward full normalization with Israel. Analysts say regional tensions, domestic considerations, and the unresolved Palestinian issue continue to stand in the way.

For now, the kingdom appears content to keep its options open, despite ongoing speculation and diplomatic pressure. The Jerusalem Post reports that predictions of an imminent Saudi breakthrough have repeatedly failed to materialize.
