Trump’s new surgeon general nominee, Dr Nicole Saphier, is under scrutiny after deleting old social media posts critical of Trump administration policies and officials.
Dr Nicole Saphier, President Donald Trump’s third nominee for surgeon general, has reportedly deleted past social media posts critical of Trump administration policies on vaccines, autism and transparency. CNN reported the posts remained accessible through internet archives despite her X account becoming private.
Saphier had questioned Trump’s comments linking Tylenol use during pregnancy to autism and also criticised his public feud with Elon Musk as “petty, loud and obnoxious.” She additionally raised concerns about Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s handling of vaccine policy and the U.S. measles outbreak.
The White House defended the radiologist and Fox News contributor, describing her as “an accomplished physician” who would support Trump’s “MAHA agenda.” Saphier emerged as the administration’s third choice after earlier nominees reportedly failed to secure sufficient congressional support for confirmation.
