A federal court has released a purported suicide note allegedly written by Jeffrey Epstein before his 2019 jail death, reigniting public interest in the controversial case.
A federal judge has unsealed a purported suicide note allegedly written by disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein before his 2019 death in a Manhattan jail. The note, reportedly discovered by Epstein’s former cellmate Nicholas Tartaglione, included statements such as, “They investigated me for months — FOUND NOTHING!!!” and “It is a treat to be able to choose one’s time to say goodbye.”
Tartaglione claimed he found the handwritten note hidden inside a graphic novel after Epstein was moved from their shared cell following an earlier incident. The authenticity of the note has not been independently verified.
The release comes after prosecutors agreed there was “strong public interest” in the circumstances surrounding Epstein’s death. Epstein died in August 2019 in what authorities ruled a suicide while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
