Abuse-linked porn website taken offline following CNN exposé

Dutch authorities shut down abuse-linked porn site Motherless following a CNN investigation, though experts warn the platform could easily resurface through jurisdictional maneuvering.

Dutch authorities have taken the pornographic website Motherless offline and opened a preliminary investigation following a CNN exposé revealing the platform hosted thousands of videos linked to drug-facilitated sexual assault and non-consensual imagery. The site, which attracted nearly 82 million visitors in March alone, had its servers disconnected by Dutch prosecutors in Zeeland-West-Brabant.

Hosting provider NFOrce Internet Services confirmed launching an urgent compliance review before the takedown. Advocacy groups welcomed the move but warned Motherless could resurface by migrating servers, citing a similar pattern with Coco, the platform used by convicted rapist Dominique Pelicot.

Survivor Zoe Watts, whose testimony featured in CNN’s investigation, called the shutdown “absolutely incredible,” while online safety expert Robbert Hoving stressed those responsible “should be held accountable.”
