The Pentagon has released 162 declassified UFO files while promising more disclosures in the coming weeks.
The Pentagon on Friday released 162 new declassified UFO files as part of Donald Trump’s transparency push on unidentified anomalous phenomena. The materials, published on war.gov/UFO, include images, incident reports and agency records linked to unresolved sightings. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said, “This release of declassified documents demonstrates the Trump Administration’s earnest commitment to unprecedented transparency.”
The Defense Department noted that the files remain unresolved because investigators lacked enough data to determine the nature of the incidents. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman also backed the disclosure effort while urging caution about conclusions. Former President Barack Obama dismissed claims the government was hiding evidence of aliens, joking that “some guy guarding the installation would have taken a selfie.” Lawmakers supporting disclosure praised the move as a step toward accountability
