Andrew Giuliani defended FIFA’s expensive World Cup ticket prices despite criticism from fans and President Trump.
Andrew Giuliani has defended the soaring prices of 2026 FIFA World Cup tickets after President Donald Trump admitted he would not spend over $1,000 to attend Team USA’s opening match against Paraguay. Giuliani, executive director of the White House Task Force on the tournament, said, “We look to FIFA as a private entity here, we don’t really believe in price controls.” Ticket prices for major matches have sparked backlash, with World Cup final seats reportedly reaching nearly $33,000 for premium access.
Trump told The Post, “I would certainly like to be there, but I wouldn’t pay it either.” FIFA President Gianni Infantino defended the pricing strategy, insisting market forces determine costs. Giuliani also assured international visitors that legal travelers have “nothing to be concerned about” regarding immigration policies during the tournament period.
