Jimmy Kimmel announced his late-night show will air a rerun on Thursday to honor Stephen Colbert’s final episode of “The Late Show” and urged his audience to tune in.
Jimmy Kimmel announced Wednesday that Jimmy Kimmel Live! will air a rerun on Thursday out of respect for Stephen Colbert’s final episode of The Late Show.
According to Yahoo, Kimmel instructed his ABC audience to tune in to CBS for the impending series finale. Kimmel criticized network executives, saying, “I hope the people who did the pushing feel ashamed of themselves tonight although, I know they probably won’t.”
Despite the frustration, Kimmel praised his late-night peer, stating, “Everyone at that show has always been very gracious to us. We never felt like we were competing against them.” Kimmel urged his viewers to watch CBS “to wish Stephen and our friends at ‘The Late Show’ a fond farewell,” before pivoting his monologue to lampoon President Donald Trump.
