Allies and supporters of President Donald Trump are preparing to claim millions from the Justice Department’s newly established $1.776 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund.”
Allies of President Donald Trump are lining up to seek money from the Justice Department’s new $1.776 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund,” designed to compensate individuals claiming political targeting under the Biden administration.
According to the International Business Times, the program has drawn immediate applications from high-profile Trump loyalists. Pardoned former Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio revealed plans to seek up to $5 million, stating, “I’m not greedy. But my life was all f—ked up because of this.” Attorney Peter Ticktin, representing over 400 Jan. 6 defendants, added, “I don’t think the DOJ is ready for us yet.” Mark McCloskey also confirmed his interest, calling it “the first ray of light we’ve seen in a long time.”
The fund faces fierce political and legal backlash, including a lawsuit from Capitol Police officers seeking to block it.
