Former CDC director warns U.S. could likely see Ebola cases

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed that an American working in the Democratic Republic of Congo has tested positive for Ebola, according to NewsNation. The patient, who developed symptoms while in the outbreak region, is being evacuated to Germany for specialised treatment, with U.S. health officials stressing that the risk to Americans remains low.

The case comes as the CDC ramps up global response efforts, including enhanced airport screening, travel restrictions, and monitoring of passengers arriving from high-risk countries such as Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan.

Officials say the measures are preventive, not panic-driven, as Ebola cases continue to rise in parts of Central and East Africa.

The CDC continues to monitor the situation closely while coordinating international containment efforts.
