A senior Iranian spokesperson dismissed a leaked U.S. peace proposal as an unrealistic “wish list,” asserting that Washington cannot achieve through documentation what it has failed to win in active negotiations or conflict.
A senior Iranian lawmaker on Wednesday rejected a reported U.S. proposal aimed at ending regional hostilities, characterizing the document as a reflection of American desires rather than a viable diplomatic framework.
Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian parliament’s foreign policy and national security committee, issued the rebuttal following an Axios report detailing the alleged text of the agreement. Rezaei suggested the proposal attempts to secure concessions that the United States has failed to obtain through either military pressure or direct diplomatic engagement.
“The Axios text is more of an American wish list than a reality; Americans will not gain anything in a war they are losing that they have not gained in face-to-face negotiations,” Rezaei posted on X. The statement signals a significant impasse in ongoing efforts to mediate a conclusion to the conflict.
