President Donald Trump said Saturday the U.S. has agreed to hold off on further attacks against Iran, citing the “perimeters of a deal” now taking shape, according to a post on Truth Social.

“We have just been asked by Iran, and other Middle Eastern Countries, to hold off any attack in that the perimeters of a deal has been agreed to,” Trump wrote, adding that the agreement would include the “Immediate, Complete, and Total OPENING OF THE HORMUZ STRAIT” and an end to Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Trump said the U.S. remains “locked and loaded and ready to go” but is pausing strikes “subject to being able to rapidly make a DEAL.” He added that Israel “joins me in this commitment.”

The announcement came hours after the State Department urged Americans across the Middle East to consider leaving the region or prepare for short-notice departures, warning of flight disruptions and escalating security risks, NBC News reported.
