Downing Street has rebuked US Vice-President JD Vance after he linked the murder of British teenager Henry Nowak to what he called a “mass invasion of migrants.”
As BBC News reports, Vance said the 18-year-old’s fatal stabbing in Southampton reflected broader failures by political leaders on immigration.
The UK government swiftly pushed back, accusing some figures of trying to interfere in British democracy and inflame tensions. Officials also pointed to the wishes of Nowak’s family, who have urged people not to use his death to deepen divisions.
According to BBC News, the row follows violent protests, scrutiny of police actions, and growing political debate over the circumstances surrounding the teenager’s killing.
