Iranian hardliners angry with Khamenei over US ceasefire negotiations

Fresh cracks may be showing inside Iran’s leadership. According to a report by The Jerusalem Post, hardline figures within the Iranian government are reportedly pushing back against ongoing ceasefire talks with the United States, fearing the negotiations could weaken Iran’s long-standing anti-Western stance.

The report says some officials are frustrated by the lack of transparency surrounding the discussions, with one Iranian source claiming many insiders are learning key developments from television rather than direct briefings.

Tensions reportedly rose further after Iran demanded the immediate release of $12 billion in frozen assets held in Qatar as a condition for continuing talks. Meanwhile, hardliners remain deeply suspicious of any deal with Washington, viewing concessions as a betrayal of Iran’s resistance doctrine.
