President Donald Trump announced he is postponing a scheduled Tuesday military attack on Iran following direct requests from three prominent Middle East leaders citing ongoing peace negotiations.
President Donald Trump announced Monday he is calling off a scheduled military strike against Iran after three Middle East leaders urged him to “hold off” due to active peace negotiations.
According to CNBC, Trump disclosed on Truth Social that he paused Tuesday’s offensive after appeals from the leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. He claimed the allies believe a deal is close, emphasizing, “This Deal will include, importantly, NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS FOR IRAN!”
While the attack is postponed, Trump stated he ordered Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine to “be prepared to go forward with a full, large scale assault of Iran, on a moment’s notice, in the event that an acceptable Deal is not reached.”
The standoff centers heavily on the vital Strait of Hormuz oil-shipping route.
