Meta has officially launched paid subscription plans for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, according to Channels TV. The tech giant says the move is part of efforts to diversify revenue beyond advertising, especially as it continues heavy investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure.
The new services—Facebook Plus, Instagram Plus, and WhatsApp Plus—will offer enhanced features like improved analytics, customisation tools, and premium engagement insights, with prices starting from $2.99 to $3.99 monthly. Meta also hinted at a future unified platform branded “Meta One.” The announcement comes amid rising investor scrutiny over its AI spending, projected at up to $145 billion this year. Meta’s stock reportedly rose following the news, signalling early market approval of the subscription-driven shift in strategy, Channels TV reports.
